IBM’s most recent ‘Cost of a Data Breach’ report for 2021 reported a 10% increase in average total cost of a breach from 2020 – 2021 (3.86 million to 4.24 million and a $1.07 million Cost difference where remote work was a factor in causing the breach. Moreover, healthcare organizations experienced the highest average cost of a data breach for the eleventh year in a row (increasing from an average total cost of $7.13 million in 2020 to $9.23 million in 2021).
